PIROXICAM CAPSULE

PIROXICAM CAPSULES 20MG

Indications:

For symptom relief in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It is not the drug of choice when used as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for the above indications.

Contra-indications:

1. Patients with known allergy to this product.
2. Patients who have asthma, hives, or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
3. It is prohibited for the treatment of perioperative pain during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
4. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation after the use of NSaids.

Adverse Effects:

Gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as nausea, stomachache, reduction and dyspepsia were the most common, and 3.5% of them required withdrawal. When the dosage is greater than 20mg (2 capsules) per day, the incidence of gastric ulcer is significantly increased, and some are combined with bleeding and even perforation.

Precautions & Warning:

1. Cross allergies. Patients who are allergic to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may also be allergic to this product.
2. Avoid combination with other NSaids, including selective COX-2 inhibitors.
3. Take the drug after meals or with food or antacids to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Use with caution for pregnant and lactating women.

Storage instructions:

Store below 25℃. Protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
